MakerBot Method X Nylon 12 Carbon Fibre Material (0.5kg)

MakerBot Method X Nylon 12 Carbon Fibre Material (0.5kg)

      Product form

Print strong, heat-resistant metal replacement parts. Carbon fibre reinforced nylon optimised for high strength to weight ratio, stiffness, and heat resistance making it ideal for structural applications and metal replacements.

For printing at scale, the 1C Extruder is recommended to achieve optimal performance on Method series printers (Standard extruder on Method XL).

Print With the Method XL Printer

The Method XL is optimised for this material using the standard included 1C extruder, delivering reliable results across prototyping and production applications.

        Moisture Resistance

Carbon fibre reinforced nylon 12 provides the easiest carbon fibre composite 3D printing experience thanks to superior moisture resistance. This enables easier printing, more consistent results, and parts that can perform in a wider range of environments.

        Stiffness

For applications that require parts that hold their form with minimal flex, such as automotive brackets or inspection gauges, Nylon Carbon Fibre offers an impressive 6000 Mpa tensile modulus.

        Ease of Use

Carbon fibre is normally limited to a handful of expensive and advanced applications. Nylon 12 Carbon Fibre + METHOD makes carbon fibre accessible to anyone for nearly any application - from simple tools to complex end-use parts.

        Smart Spool

The Smart Spool™ contains all the information that the printer needs, including material type, colour, and amount remaining via an RFID chip. This is communicated directly to MakerBot Print, while a built-in desiccant absorbs any moisture exposure during the material loading process, ensuring your material stays fresher longer.

        Storage Environment

Store Nylon 12 Carbon Fibre Material in the included a vacuum-sealed metalised polyester bag to avoid moisture absorption from air and long-term exposure to humidity can compromise material quality and performance. Make sure the built-in desiccant is in the spool to absorb any moisture exposure during the material loading process.
