The launch lands on June 3, 2025. The new model gives engineers, manufacturing teams, and maintenance crews a faster path to production prints, working prototypes, and on-demand repairs. A faster, smarter UltiMaker S6 3D printer

The new model reaches travel speeds of up to 500 mm/s. It hits 50,000 mm/s² acceleration. UltiMaker's new Cheetah motion planner manages every move. The result is print times up to 4x faster than the S5.

As a dual extrusion 3D printer, it runs two print cores from a single material station. Multi-material jobs hold together with less downtime and fewer reloads. Two build plates ship as standard. A flexible plate suits broad day-to-day work. A glass plate suits medical and food-packaging prints where hygiene matters. Both plates remove the need for third-party add-ons.

UltiMaker has shipped more than 40,000 S-series printers globally. The new launch keeps all of it in play. Material stations, air managers, print cores, and materials all work across the S series. Sliced files from older jobs run on the new printer without re-tooling. Shops with set workflows keep their pipeline intact.

Three setups for defence, manufacturing, and education

The S6 ships in three material setups. The first is built for defence and manufacturing. It runs rugged, heat-resistant composites for tough production jobs. The second is for education. It uses classroom-safe PLA in school and university labs. The third is for food and beverage. It uses food-safe and abrasion-resistant materials for packaging work.

The new model supports more than 300 print materials. The list covers the full UltiMaker range and third-party filaments in the open materials programme. UltiMaker builds the printer in the Netherlands under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, both audited by BSI Group. Those rules match the standards used in defence, aerospace, and automotive work.
